Beauty is in the hope, not the expectation

Searching for a partner can often lead to the temptation of setting parameters and definitions of whom we see ourselves with. In so doing, we're already boxing up and limiting a very robust and undefinable aspect of the entire journey's requirement.

Love can't be manufactured or build through some formula, can it? Sure, everyone should have some characteristics and traits to look for in someone, perhaps even including or being sure to notice track records or past behaviors may be of benefit. But does that leave something important out?

Hope comes from inside us. It's something cultivated and catalyzed within that's in a way, more of a positive energy. Hope for a future where what's missing can bring about a grounding and self-empowerment that's rooted in humility and patience and perhaps self-discovery that stems from a happy place wherein boundless possibilities can lie. Hope to be in something special, something open, something selfless, something shared with another person is different than expecting. Hope to want to share one's capacity to love, hope to create memories with someone in the future, hope that we can eek out more time before our days on earth are done.

May we all hope to serve and give and love others, rather than expecting anything from anyone or limiting the boundlessness of the journey we're on. No expectations on the when and how and why of it all. We're already enough.
