Poem of Light

Have you helped someone today?

Perhaps a hand or what you say?

Take the time to make an impact indeed...

You’ll feel blessed and even freed.

There’s so much challenge and often pain.

Some feel down like burdensome rain.

So why not change their face?

The powers within and here’s my case:

Day or night the chances stand.

Take a leap and clench your hand.

Seek a friend, a foe, or a stranger;

Alleviate their worries and upend their danger.

Listen, support, and encourage them on,

for one day we’ll all be gone.

But what won’t is the things you did here

And how you remedied fear.

Making a difference what a noble thought.

The reward you get cannot be bought.

The joy, the laugh, the warmth you’ll see

But don’t take it from little ol’ me.

Look at the smiles of those serving in light.

They’re the stars shinning so bright.

And floating like clouds they hover above 

Avoiding trouble and filled with love.

Care for a person aren’t you one indeed.

Leave all your troubles behind and be freed.
