Family Ties

I've had a special experience with the blood bonds known as "family."

The family unit is so interesting and brings about such diverse interactions and behaviors. Not everyone is "close" to their family. Perhaps its a lifelong eb and flow that change over time.

As Memorial Day approaches, I remember how lucky I've been and how lucky I continue to be for having family close to me. Though unrelated to the sacrifice on the battlefield we remember for the holiday upcoming; it does give me pause and I give thanks for the family I have. And for any members of it that are no longer with me, I know they remain in my heart forever. I love my family.
