Rainbows in the Storms

There are dark days in life that simply sap the energy and will from you. Sometimes it seems like you just can't get out of it. Like a tempest surrounding you, it pummels you from every which side and there's no light to be found.

I've felt alone more in these two years than I have, perhaps in all the years prior added together. I can't tell you how many times I've been knocked out to the point of needing to lie down, or go to sleep early, or just blasted with terrible headaches.

Sometime, most times, I don't sleep well and it feels like I'm stuck in mud with no sign of things relenting for me.

But still, there are rainbows too. There are moments of encouragement, joy, and optimism that come from what I've called "mom miracles" and in these moments, everything beautiful is heightened to indescribable levels.

There are beautiful moments in the darkness, we just have to be aware of them. They're all around us.
